Grade 5-6 Literature Analysis and Critical Writing Workshop
- Description: This workshop series is designed for 5th and 6th grade students aiming to improve their literature analysis and critical writing abilities with an emphasis on vocabulary and abstract thinking. Each workshop includes a 90-minute book analysis/discussion lesson and a 90-minute essay analysis/revision lession. During the book analysis/discuss lesson, students discuss their initial observations and analysis of the preassigned book before a more in depth and guided exploration of vocabulary, characters, themes, literary devices, and real world context. Students will be given an essay prompt over the book and asked to complete the writing at home at the end of the lesson. During the essay analysis/revision lesson, students share and revise their essays with the help of our instructor. • $640/semester, if participating all 8 workshops (totally 16 lessons)
• $95 per workshop if participating fewer than 8 workshops (each workshop includes two lessons)
