Grade 7-8 Literature Analysis and Critical Writing Workshop (online)
- Description: This workshop series is designed for 7th and 8th grade students who would like to enhance their literature analysis and critical writing ability. Each workshop includes a 1.5-hour group analysis/discussion lesson and a half-hour one-on-one essay analysis/revision lesson. Vocabulary study is included in the 1.5-hour group lesson. An essay prompt will be given to students after the first lesson. Students need to finish reading the pre-selected book before the first lesson, and finish writing the essay before the one-on-one essay revision lesson. The following books are featured during the semester:
2. Lord of the Flies (William Golding)
3. The Things They Carried (Tim O'Brien)
4. Made in America An Informal History of the English Language in the United States (Bill Bryan)
5. Life of Pi (Yann Martel)
6. The Outsiders (S.E. Hinton)
7. All Quiet on the Western Front (Erich Maria Remarque)
8. The Little Prince (Antoine de Saint-Exupéry)
NOTE: This workshop series is taught online with zoom by our beloved teacher Mr. Bond. Students need to download the app
and will take lessons at home.

- Date and Time:
- Book analysis/discussion 7:30pm - 9pm Mondays
- Essay analysis/revision: 30 minutes windows between 5:30pm - 8:30pm Mondays
- Tuition and fee
• $640/semester, if participating all 8 workshops (totally 16 lessons)
• $90 per workshop if participating fewer than 8 workshops (each workshop includes two lessons)
